Hello friends, Liz suggested that I share this experience here, and I think it’s a good idea too! So here goes.
Earlier this week, I had a class test (10% of the final grade) at 1.30pm. I spent the night before studying till about 4am. And then I set about 5 alarms for 8am++ because I had to go for a 9.30am lecture before the test.
I did my QT before sleeping, and I prayed that when I woke up the next day, I’d feel rested.
When I woke up, I did feel rested! Then SUDDENLY I had this vague impression that the time was 1pm++. I got up and looked at my watch, and it was 2pm. My test was at 1.30pm.
And NTU is like one of the furthest places in Singapore. So anyway I got ready and left the house within 10 minutes and drove like a mad woman all the way to NTU.
It was very stressful because if the teacher did not let me take the test, my chances of getting an A for the final grade would be zero. And I had no idea how he would respond when I showed up. Whatever it was, I just committed the whole issue into God’s hands because it was totally out of my control.
Of course, I did question God. Why did this have to happen to me? What did I do to deserve this when I did my QT the night before?
When I reached the carpark, I prayed that there will be an empty lot for me that is not parallel parking. But when I reached, the ONLY lot was a parallel parking lot -.- So anyway as I was making one round to go back to the parallel lot, I saw exactly one reverse parking lot! Praise the Lord (:
By the time I parked it was more than an hour after the test is supposed to start. When I reached the classroom, it was EMPTY. So I went up to my teacher’s office and I told him the truth. And THANK GOD he let me take the test! (:
When I apologised, he said, “It’s okay. No actually, it’s not okay. But since you came all the way to school…” And even though I did not finish studying for the test, I did okay in the end.
So a BIG thank you to God, for turning the worst day of my entire semester around!

Truly, everything that happens has a purpose, and even when everything seems spinning madly out of control to us, God is always always in control.
