When I say…”I am a Christian”
I’m not shouting “I am saved”
I’m whispering “I was lost”
That is why I chose this way.
When I say…”I am a Christian”
I don’t speak of this with pride.
I’m confessing that I stumble
And need someone to be my guide.
I rely on His strength alone.
When I say…”I am a Christian”
I’m not trying to be strong.
I’m professing that I’m weak
And pray for strength to carry on.
When I say…”I am a Christian”
I’m not bragging of success.
I’m admitting I have failed
And cannot ever pay the debt.
When I say…”I am a Christian”
I’m not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are all too visible,
But God believes I’m worth it.
When I say…”I am a Christian”
I still feel the sting of pain
I have my share of heartaches
Which is why I speak His name.
When I say…”I am a Christian”
I do not wish to judge.
I have no authority.
I only know I’m loved.

Hey all! Remember last Saturday during Expressoul, we spent it praying for our friends whom we want to invite to the Max Brenner outreach? I had a group of friends in mind already then. Quite a number of my school friends are very skeptical towards Christianity, but the past few days I have been praying for them. That God will make that change in their lives and open their heart and eyes to see that He is God. Anyway one of them was chatting with me just now, and on her own accord, she said “maybe I should go to your youth group one day and be holy”.
So I took the opportunity to tell her about the outreach, and she says she will come if my other friend (who is a Christian) comes. That was… easy! Haha and God really works in wonderful and powerful ways.
So do continue to keep your friends in prayer, or for guidance as to who to invite. Our God can change their hearts, so let us be willing to be used by Him!
Hey! Just wanted to share a verse with you guys. :)
The Lord is NEAR to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desire of those who FEAR him; he also hears their cry and saves them.
Psalms 145:18-19
> God is there for us through our exams and crappy periods in our lives! :)

HEY GUYS. We are back from Kalimantan! :) God is indeed good and the trip was just awesomeee! Feeling withdrawal symptoms now zzz.
Just wanna share a short testimony on how God has provided, will share more when I see you all. We arrived at Kuching last night to spend the night there and take the flight home this morning. So we checked in at the airport, strolled to eat Macs breakfast and all. So we were running pretty late but no one seemed to realise and all, so while we were in the toilet, some of the people decided to go the the waiting area first cause it was 15mins to departure time. So we left the toilet in small groups hoping to buy some time for the rest to get the the departure area. And when my friend and I reached the gate, we were told that the captain was super pissed off and didn’t allow us to board the plane. So we waited for the whole team to reach the gate. 4 people were already on the plane. And the rest of us were denied entry. They were removing our checkin bags from the plane and told us to go to XXX counter to retrieve it and said they only have a flight per day. Means we have to spend the night at kuching. Upon hearing the news, all of us just started to go into pairs and groups and muttered short prayers (while the flight attendant continued ranting about how the captain was striking our names of the passenger list). Then suddenly, she said, okay the captain said can board.
So, guys, don’t ever underestimate the power of prayer. It is an invitation for God to intervene and its pretty much the most powerful tool we have.
So, yup, something to think about. Have a great week at school. Will tell you all more when we meeet:)
Love,
Charis

Hello friends, Liz suggested that I share this experience here, and I think it’s a good idea too! So here goes.
Earlier this week, I had a class test (10% of the final grade) at 1.30pm. I spent the night before studying till about 4am. And then I set about 5 alarms for 8am++ because I had to go for a 9.30am lecture before the test.
I did my QT before sleeping, and I prayed that when I woke up the next day, I’d feel rested.
When I woke up, I did feel rested! Then SUDDENLY I had this vague impression that the time was 1pm++. I got up and looked at my watch, and it was 2pm. My test was at 1.30pm.
And NTU is like one of the furthest places in Singapore. So anyway I got ready and left the house within 10 minutes and drove like a mad woman all the way to NTU.
It was very stressful because if the teacher did not let me take the test, my chances of getting an A for the final grade would be zero. And I had no idea how he would respond when I showed up. Whatever it was, I just committed the whole issue into God’s hands because it was totally out of my control.
Of course, I did question God. Why did this have to happen to me? What did I do to deserve this when I did my QT the night before?
When I reached the carpark, I prayed that there will be an empty lot for me that is not parallel parking. But when I reached, the ONLY lot was a parallel parking lot -.- So anyway as I was making one round to go back to the parallel lot, I saw exactly one reverse parking lot! Praise the Lord (:
By the time I parked it was more than an hour after the test is supposed to start. When I reached the classroom, it was EMPTY. So I went up to my teacher’s office and I told him the truth. And THANK GOD he let me take the test! (:
When I apologised, he said, “It’s okay. No actually, it’s not okay. But since you came all the way to school…” And even though I did not finish studying for the test, I did okay in the end.
So a BIG thank you to God, for turning the worst day of my entire semester around!

Truly, everything that happens has a purpose, and even when everything seems spinning madly out of control to us, God is always always in control.
